Mosquito screens are made of fibre mesh, designed mainly to keep insects out. The mesh is thinner and easily torn by cat claws, so it's not suitable for households with cats. Cat screens are usually made of stainless steel 'reinforced mesh', which is much tougher and scratch-resistant, and also keeps insects out.

Common industry practice is to keep grille or mesh spacing within about 1.5 inches, so a cat's head cannot fit through. The actual recommendation depends on your window type and your cat's size, based on an on-site measurement.

Yes, we would recommend it. Balcony doors, balcony windows and exhaust fans are all potential gaps. We check every opening during the measurement visit and recommend the right screening or sealing approach for each.

Yes — depending on your window type, we can use removable magnetic mosquito screens or other options that require minimal changes to the window frame, subject to an on-site assessment. We'd recommend confirming with your landlord before installation.

Usually yes. Some of our styles use a base-frame design that can be installed without damaging your existing window, though it depends on the actual site structure.

No. The mesh is designed to keep insects out while maintaining airflow — it's not a sun-blocking product, and prolonged sun exposure will also shorten the mesh's lifespan. For sun protection, please consider curtains or blinds separately.

We recommend cleaning about every six months: gently remove dust with a soft brush, then wipe with a mild detergent solution. Avoid bleach and very hot water.
